Cologne Cathedral is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful in Europe. It sits on the bank on the Rhine River atop a hill and rises majestically above the city.
Begin this lesson by using Handout 14 “The History of Cologne Cathedral”. Explain the history of Cologne to students and the role the construction of the Cathedral played over time. Students should use Worksheet 12 “Building a Cathedral” to construct a timeline of these events.
